Ed was born in Nizhny Tagil, Ural Mountain near Yekaterinburg city.

He holds degrees in fashion design and mining. He has worked as a miner, rolling mill operator, natural gas well driller, a sewing school instructor, and as a leader at an ornamental plaster and concrete casting firm. Now Ed earns his living working security at the advanced weapons testing site near Nizhny Tagil.

Ice carving has been Ed’s hobby for a decade. First, he participated in ice competition in Poland and since then won silver and gold in Russia, Alaska, Canada and China. Ed is looking forward to more countries and competitions in the future.
