The Ice Bug bit Aino in 2007, when she first put chisel on ice. Aino has so far created several non-competition sculptures. Working with a Multi Block Team in 2009 prepared Aino for sculpting in the North Pole Christmas in Ice competition.

Her friends in North Pole, call Aino "The Ice Elf", she has competed in Fairbanks and North Pole since 2008.
