This is what I came up with for my bio.
This is my first time carving in a competition. I was first inspired by the idea to carve a fleur-de-lis in honor of my home town River Ridge, LA, winners of the 2019 Little League World Series.
Since everybody was busy building the ice games and ice slides in the kids' park, I decided to carve the fleur-de-lis myself.
I have never carved anything before other than firewood, so I recruited my good friend Heather Krawiec to be the lead carver. She also has never carved ice before.
Heather Krawiec is a local artist here in Fairbanks. The fleur-de-lis is displayed in the kids' park.
Then I had the desire to see my home state college football team, Louisiana State University, LSU logo and tiger carved in ice.
Due to a family emergency for an ice carver from Australia, I was able to team up with Jacob Harding to carve the LSU Tiger.
With determination, enthusiasm, encouragement and support from other ice carving artist, I was able to enter the double block competition.
